Never re-roll a Dragon Lord tier
A second Star attempt burns another Artisan's Splendent book plus 22 scales. The transfer costs only 11 scales and 4 Wrathful Mind. Craft each tier once, take a combo if it fires, otherwise transfer.

A 300-craft run is not unusual. Gather bottom-tier materials in waves rather than all up front.
The grind is front-loaded: about 250 cheap Truth-line crafts carry you from mastery 1 to 30, then six Dragon Lord crafts finish the job. Asmodian Alchemy stations are at Safe Haven and Nornir Assembly in Altgard.

Set up gathering
Essence Extraction nodes are open at mastery 1. Odyle and Ruby nodes roll four grades (base, Fine, Pure, Radiant): put early points into Odyle and Gem Seeker, then the Appraiser skills.

2 Spiritstone + 1 Catalyst (Bound) each. Expect about 576 over the whole tree.

Craft repeatedly and bank every Splendent Truth. Target about 48.

Mastery 80 is only needed to make Durable scales yourself. Dark, Ebony and every transfer have no mastery requirement, and Thick and Hard scales are tradable, so a buyer can stop at 55. Scales can also be made with Handicrafting at the same levels.

Six stops cover the list. The dungeon stop is the bottleneck.
Fire Temple or Ferocious Horn Den · Conquest
Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego; Ultimate Refining Stone; Balaur's Essence; the Refining Stone line
The only party dungeons with Ego. Fire Temple Conquest recharges 2 a day and banks 14. Exploration drops none of the Wrathful line.
Abyssal Forge: Ludra raid
Best single rates: Eternal Ludra drops Essence at 100%, Mind at 10%, Ultimate Refining Stone at 3.58%
Worth it if your group already runs it.

Tips and shortcuts
Buy the Truth-line Splendents
They are Bind on Equip and can be traded until equipped. Three bought Artisan's Splendent books skip roughly 250 crafts. Dragon Lord books are Bind on Pickup.
Never vendor or salvage a Splendent
Each one is the ticket to the next recipe. Losing it means rolling the 25% again.
Let the grind level you
The Truth-line crafts are also your mastery XP from 1 to 30, so you are not grinding twice.
Watch for a competing recipe
The Professional Alchemist's Scale (Bound) also eats an Artisan's Splendent. Don't spend one there until your three are locked in.
Mastery 55 or 80?
Star (55) is the last mastery-gated spellbook. You need 80 only to make your own Durable scales.
The payoff
Splendent Ebony takes Amplified Enhancement to +5, versus +3 on Splendent Dark.
